Museum located tanah abang area was established in the year 1976 and was inaugurated by late. Mrs. tien soeharto on 28 July 1976.

What is the purpose of the establishment of the Textile Museum?

The purpose of the establishment of the textile museum is to preserve indonesia's textile tradition, because in the era of the 1970s understanding about textiles and the use of textiles is already very decreased.

While the beginning of this museum was the stuff came from donations of the society of lovers of textiles(set of wastraprema) as much as 500 textile high-grade.wow 

Textile Museum including the museum complete with various facilities cool at the same time could add insight,understanding, as well as our love of batik.

Facilities at the Textile Museum this made me interested and amazed. One of the pendopo batik,because in the hall of this we can learn to make batik and the result can be taken home for keepsake (the results of the work of our own).

In the gallery here you can also see from the ancient batik to modern batik..... Oh ya... this gallery recently inaugurated a year after the unesco recognized batik is a heritage world the exact date is October 2, 2010. cool right?

You don't need to worry about parking or a place you can buy souvenirs then to the textile museum. Here is a spacious parking lot and there are places to buy souvenirs.
